........................... April Come She Will ...........................

Copyright © 1965 Paul Simon

From the Sounds of Silence album.

Transcribed by Rich Kent (r.kent@virgin.net).

Paul based this beautiful song on a poem once read to him in England. I
don't think you can get more accurate than Rich Kent's superb tab which
I've reproduced below.

Verse 2 is played the same as verse 1 except you play the note in
parentheses in the second bar of verse 2. The D in verse 3 is a C shape
barred at the second fret.

The original version on Sounds of Silence is capoed at the first fret.
Although I believe the version from the Concert in Central Park uses two
guitars, you can re-create the overall sound of that version by playing the
tab below capoed at the third fret. For the version on the Paul Simon
Songbook, play this tab without a capo (guitar tuned about 1/4 step down --
see the information on tuning on the main page).

Lyrics:

April, come she will,
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain.
May, she will stay,
Resting in my arms again.

June, she'll change her tune.
In restless walks she'll prowl the night.
July, she will fly,
And give no warning to her flight.

August, die she must.
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold.
September, I'll remember.
A love once new has now grown old.
